What is Lose The Lawn?
Lose The Lawn is a public outreach and advocacy campaign run by Middlebrook Gardens to promote sustainable landscaping in urban, suburban, and rural areas.
We aim to convince local governments, businesses, and the general public that lawns are detrimental to wildlife, clean water supplies, individuality, the climate, artistic expression, children, and your pocketbook!
We educate people about the benefits of switching from the water-guzzling cookie-cutter lawns that dominate the American neighborhood to more natural, efficient and aesthetically unique options.
When people realize the detrimental effects of lawns, and are shown how beautiful and economical the alternatives are, they will switch!
We would like to help you learn about the benefits of removing your lawn and creating beautiful spaces around your home by providing information, resources, and materials to help you choose alternatives, and so that you can help others do the same.
Middlebrook Gardens also offers services in designing, building, and maintaining native gardens in the state of California. We seek to make our natural gardens, affordable, quickly installed and easily understandable for the typical American home dweller. With over 20 years of experience, and having designed and built over 150 native gardens throughout California, you'll be in good hands!
